Schedule: Full-Time Mon-Fri 6:00am-4:00pm, Sat 6:00am - 1pm (Night shift also available)

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities and be comfortable working with computer-based diagnostic systems.

Our shop is a full-service repair facility servicing tractors, trailers, refuse trucks, and off-highway equipment. We work on a variety of industry-leading brands including Peterbilt, Mack, Freightliner, and Caterpillar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize laptop-based engine and vehicle diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Diagnose and repair truck chassis and engine electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair vehicle HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Repair and maintain braking, suspension, steering, hydraulic, and drivetrain systems.
• Accurately document repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Must have your own tools.
• Experience using laptop-based engine and truck diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of truck chassis, engine electrical systems, and electronic controls.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently
• Garbage/refuse truck experience is a plus.
• Experience working on Peterbilt, Mack, Freightliner, and Caterpillar equipment is highly preferred.
• Must have a clear background and drug screening.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
