Arrow Service Team is looking for a full-time Carpenter to join our Restoration Reconstruction Team of professionals in Dickinson ND!


Arrow Service Team is based out of Bismarck ND and is the leader in the disaster restoration industry in North Dakota. If you take pride in your finished work and work well in a team environment, this is the job for you! We handle a wide variety of carpentry restoration jobs. What makes our industry unique is that our line of work primarily entails restoring an existing property to its pre-state/pre loss condition or better. If you are a seasoned veteran, you won't get bored with the many different projects we handle on a daily basis.


Arrow provides and assigns company vehicles (typically a box truck) with the power tools necessary to complete carpentry jobs. Basic individual hand tools are employee provided.


Training is fully paid and on-the-job with our experienced team. We have a team of skilled Carpenters ready to share their diverse knowledge, skills, and tricks of the trade. Expected core training is 2 to 3 weeks but depends on overall progress. On-the -job training will take place in Bismarck ND in the early phases and will gravitate to Dickinson ND. Hotel room will be paid by Arrow and a per diem will be provided while training in Bismarck.


In this role, you'll be learning something new every day. Training and skill development is always ongoing in this trade and industry. Over the course of time, you will become well versed in many key areas of carpentry making you even more valuable.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting job specific workorders and blueprints created by various Project Managers.
  • Cutting and installing trim moldings such base, crown molding, chair rails, and door & window casing.
  • Installing and setting/fitting interior and exterior doors, ensuring proper fit and swing.
  • Installing and setting/fitting prefabricated or repaired cabinets, ensuring they are level and flush.
  • Cutting and shaping and installing prefabricated counter tops.
  • Insulation work and installation of wall paneling.
  • Accurately measuring to avoid cut waste and to ensure a smooth fit and finished product.
  • Completion of punch list items for finalization.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.


Other carpenter duties (as needed) include:

  • Sub-flooring.
  • Framing.
  • Flooring Installation (such as laminate, vinyl/LVP, boxed goods, etc.)
  • Exterior work.
  • General drywall hanging, cutting, and repair.
  • Fitting and installing windows.
  • Assisting other reconstruction specialists as needed in our Demolition and/or Mitigation departments.


Experience and Skills:

  • Carpentry experience (2 years preferred, but willing to train the right person).
  • Individual must be familiar with aspects of the carpentry profession, including proficient use of power tools and strong knowledge of building materials.
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with or without supervision.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to unexpected changes or challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail, precision, and overall craftsmanshift/quality.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team setting.
  • Ability to be professional, act with integrity, and have the ability to show empathy.


Physical Demands:

  • Lift (constantly) 5-10 lbs., lift (frequently) 10-40 lbs.
  • May involve significant stand/walk/ push/pull.
  • Occasional climbing (ladders, scaffolding, etc.), balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights (occasionally).
  • Exposure to weather conditions with temperatures ranging from mild to moderate cold/heat. Most jobs are indoors (climate controlled).
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud (occasional to frequent).


Pay:

  • Starting pay is negotiable and largely depends on experience, diversity of skillsets, industry knowledge, and ability. (DOE)
  • 90-day review (potential for wage adjustment).
  • Annual reviews scheduled thereafter within department review cycle (potential for wage adjustment if applicable).
  • Participation incentives for afterhours on-call emergency status including time and a half pay, per site visit bonus, and availability bonus.

 Schedule:

  • 42 to 46 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically 7:30am through 5pm. Occasional 6:30am starts to accommodate any travel distance outside of the Dickinson ND area.
  • Occasional over-night(s) with hotel room paid and per night per diem provided.
  • Weekly rotating on-call schedule for afterhours (after 5pm) emergencies (once deemed ready to participate by management).


Age Requirement:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


Education:

  • High school or equivalent.


License/Certification:

  • Valid and current Driver’s License (legal ability to drive is required).
  • Reliable transportation for getting to and from Arrow’s office/shop.
