Role Description This role is part-time on a contract basis and involves travel within the state of South Carolina. The Process Server will locate and serve legal documents to individuals and entities in accordance with state laws and procedural requirements, maintaining detailed records of all service attempts and completions. The role includes picking up, or printing and delivering legal documents between law offices, to individuals, and filing documents at various courthouses. Responsibilities also include communicating with attorneys and court staff, confirming service details, managing schedules and routes, and promptly reporting status updates. The Process Server will be expected to follow established service processes, adhere to confidentiality standards, and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Legal Document Preparation and accurate handling of court-related paperwork.
- Knowledge of Service Processes and procedures for serving legal documents in compliance with South Carolina requirements.
- General familiarity with Law and Courts, including basic civil procedure and court filing practices.
- Ability and willingness to participate in ongoing Training to stay current with legal and procedural updates.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel frequently within South Carolina.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with attorneys, court personnel, and recipients of service.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Prior experience in legal support, process serving, or court operations is preferred but not required.
