Manager, Credit and Collections

Job Summary

The Manager, Credit and Collections will be responsible for overseeing and leading our accounts receivable team. Your ultimate goal will be to help ensure a strong and consistent flow of payments that enables us to continue advancing our world-changing technologies. This position may require occasional evening and weekend hours.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Identify and track accounts that have been deemed delinquent
• Collaborate with Project Management / Sales to obtain payments
• Work with Contracts Team to negotiate new payment terms/settlements
• Refer large accounts to outside collection agencies when necessary
• Generate management reports
• Work with management to create, implement, and update credit and collection policies and procedures.
• Ensure the proper posting of cash receipts and reconciliation of account balances.
• Prepare analysis of accounts receivable allowance for doubtful accounts.
• Train, oversee and direct employees involved in credit and collection functions
• Supervise designated employees: communicate expectations; monitor and appraise job results; counsel and discipline as needed; provide appropriate training and development; interview applicants and select new employees; monitor attendance.
• Know and follow the company’s human resources policies and procedures. Adhere to applicable employment laws.
• Exemplify and foster teamwork within the company. Promptly respond to concerns, issues, and suggestions and act to ensure positive employee relations.
• Act as liaison between accounting, sales, tax, and project management departments.
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Ensure team’s compliance with Company’s internal controls.
• Provide timely supporting documentation to internal and external auditors upon request.
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with parties both internally and externally.
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years computer experience with Microsoft Office
• 5 years of collections experience
• 5 years working experience with state and federal collections laws
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business management
• Keen attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
• Tact, diplomacy, integrity, and ability to keep information confidential
• Excellent conflict management skills
• Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and inspire others
• Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast paced, smaller company environment
