Secondary Art Teacher for 2026-27 school year
Description
Arp ISD is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for teaching arts classes and inspiring students to explore their artistic talents. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a deep understanding of various arts and the ability to engage students in creative expression.
Education/Certification Requirements:
Valid Texas teaching certification in Theater and/or Art (or ability to obtain), or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Theater, Art Education, or related field (preferred)
Previous teaching and directing experience preferred
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for art courses
Teach a variety of art techniques, mediums, and history
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Organize and display student artwork
Collaborate with other staff for cross-curricular projects and school events
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to instruct students and manage classroom behavior
