Around the Sun Tykes is seeking a professional, dependable, and organized Assistant Director to support the daily operations of our childcare center. The Assistant Director will help ensure a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment while assisting with staff supervision, enrollment, parent communication, and compliance with state licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with daily center operations.
- Support staff scheduling, training, and supervision.
- Help maintain compliance with Georgia childcare licensing regulations.
- Assist with enrollment, tours, and family orientation.
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff.
- Maintain children’s records and center documentation.
- Help manage classroom coverage and staff-to-child ratios.
- Assist with staff meetings and center events.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Step into classrooms when needed to support teachers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Childcare experience required.
- Management or leadership experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain).
- Ability to pass a background check.
- CDA, TCC, Associate Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
