Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Production Manager to lead our day-to-day manufacturing operations, maintain high quality control standards, and continuous workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling & Operations: Oversee daily candle production workflows, including wax melting, fragrance blending, wicking, pouring, curing, labeling, and packaging. Create and manage master production schedules to meet customer demand and sales forecasts.
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise production staff. Foster a positive, productive, and safe work environment through clear communication and accountability.
- Quality Assurance & Control: Enforce strict quality standards across all stages of production. Inspect raw materials (wicks, wax blends, fragrance oils, vessels) and finished goods for defects, burn performance standards, and visual finish.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Track raw material levels (wax, fragrance, glass, packaging) and coordinate with suppliers to maintain continuous production without overstocking.
- Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Manage preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for melting tanks, pouring equipment, labelers, and temperature-controlled curing areas.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with OSHA regulations, local fire codes, and standard industry safety practices, particularly around thermal hazards and flammable raw materials.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, optimize batch sizes, and implement Lean/5S practices to improve throughput and cost efficiencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5 years of production management experience, ideally in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or retail manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical expertise in production scheduling, ERP/MRP inventory systems, Lean/5S process optimization, preventive equipment maintenance, and strict adherence to OSHA and QA/QC quality standards.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting abilities for both mechanical issues and product defect resolution (e.g., frosting, sinkholes, tunneling, soot control).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in a factory floor environment.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
