Position Summary
The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels and robust tracking systems, and auditing stock integrity. In this role, you will lead a team of inventory specialists, minimize shrinkage, and collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Tracking & Audit: Oversee daily inventory management, physical audits, and reconciliation process across all warehouse locations.
- System Management: Maintain accuracy within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) / ERP (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and ensure real-time data accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for stock receiving, transfers, picking, and returns.
- Loss Prevention & Variance Analysis: Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes for loss or shrinkage, and implement preventative measures.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and train the inventory control staff, setting KPIs and evaluating team performance.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and Sales to align stock levels with demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly/monthly reports on inventory accuracy, stock turnover, and aging inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or supply chain, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with ERP/WMS software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Manhattan Associates).
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of inventory control workflows (FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
