What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Front of the House Manager position at Aromas Cafe?
Primary Function: Assist with the overall front of the house operation, including; planning, organizing, training and demonstrating the leadership necessary to achieve all service, operational, and quality goals.
Major Responsibilities:
- Understand completely and enforces all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and training protocols of the organization.
- Follow & enforce all applicable health & safety standards and procedures specified for kitchen & service areas.
- Provide overall supervision & leadership to the café to include the smooth operation, cleanliness and efficiency of front of the house operations
- Display exceptional leadership and attention to detail in appearance, expectations and performance. Is properly groomed & dressed as is all staff, including those assisting with delivery.
- Monitors that appropriate cost controls (expense, revenue & waste) are in place to maintain desired ratio.
- Ensures the consistent check-in, unpacking & pricing of product deliveries, as well as the proper return & crediting of errors.
- Communicate effectively with owners & staff on any & all issues perceived to be important to overall operations.
- Work closely with kitchen team to assure smooth operations in all areas
- Monitor & Support any station when business level indicates a need.
- Develop & maintain a positive work environment through training, monitoring & counseling employees, demonstrating a dedication the quality of product, service and a focus on employee and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, clean and in good working order in accordance with the Health Dept. and company standards.
- Ensure that the physical condition of all areas, (front of the house, bathrooms, & storage areas) meet the standards on cleanliness, organization & safety.
- Perform other assignments as needed to achieve company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must be able to work evenings and weekends
*Must be 25 years of age.
*Be able to communicate & understand the predominant language of the shop.
*Have knowledge & a minimum of three years experience in the restaurant/service industry.
*Possess excellent basic math skills & have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
*Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
*Be able to reach, stoop, bend and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
*Must have the stamina to work 40 plus hours per week.
