Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Execute food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with safety standards in production
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure food safety and prevent contamination
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food efficiently and accurately
- Serve dishes promptly while ensuring presentation quality and adherence to safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department, dietary aide role, or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management, handling, and sanitation practices
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with food industry standards including safety standards in production and food handling procedures
- Ability to demonstrate excellent knife skills, slicing techniques, and attention to detail in food prep tasks
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately and work efficiently under pressure
