Responsibilities:
- Serves as the subject matter expert in all manner of shipping, receiving, and warehouse management.
- Coaches and motivates team members to achieve company and departmental goals.
- Leads by example, training team members as needed and enforcing company policies, and safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Fosters learning and individual growth for collective team growth and success.
- Provides continual informal and formal individual/ team evaluation for growth.
- Plans and schedules manpower and production efforts, to meet production schedule requirements and customer demand.
- Establishes control measures to ensure production standards are met.
- Drives improvements to production methods, processes, equipment, and performance through improvement opportunity identification, and using root cause analysis tools.
- Sets team goals and outline for achievement.
- Maintains excellence in all manner of department safety and quality.
- Budgets material requirements, maintaining inventory accuracy to include raw materials, work in progress, manufactured parts, equipment, and consumables.
- Manages job cost accuracy through accurate team labor and material usage.
- Work closely with and communicate with other departments, supervisors, and vendors to maintain clarity, direction, and success for the collective Arning team.
- Maintains equipment to include preventative maintenance and repairs, ensuring equipment life and longevity.
- Must be physically capable of completing all duties as required, to include other responsibilities as required.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a steel or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage a team effectively.
- Supervisory/ leadership experience (interviews, evaluations, corrective actions)
- Versed in 5S, visual management, Lean and continuous improvement principles.
- Professionalism - oral and written communication skills
