Marketing and Membership Assistant Job Description
Overall Summary
The Marketing and Membership Assistant (“Assistant”) reports to the Assistant General Manager, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Membership. The Assistant’s role is to provide marketing, membership, and administrative support to the Membership and Marketing Department. The Assistant will be a key part of the department, handling projects related to marketing/communications to the general membership, and membership recruitment and retention.
Responsibilities Summary
The Marketing and Membership Assistant acts as a point of contact for prospective and the general membership. The Assistant ensures that inquiries from prospective and current members are answered quickly and in a professional, friendly manner through face-to-face through tours, phone calls, and email/written correspondence.
The Marketing and Membership Assistant works with the Marketing Coordinator to assist with the Club’s email communications to the general membership, to maintain and update the Club’s website, and assists AGM in marketing and communications efforts as appropriate.
Specific Duties
- Responds to inquiries for membership; establishes the initial rapport with prospective members
- Conducts private tours of the Club’s facilities at both the Arlington and Fairfax locations
- Assist the AGM to generate membership reports and analysis
- Conducts Absent and Inactive Members usage analysis
- Manage and coordinate membership related marketing collaterals
- Plan and assist with the bi-annual New Member Receptions
- Assists in the development and implementation of membership retention strategy
- Fulfill other organizational communications needs as necessary
Database Management
- Maintains and updates the membership database and files
Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
- Proven track record of completing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills required; including good time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to multi-task; prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines
- Must be results oriented, with ability to demonstrate sense of urgency as needed
- Motivated, reliable self-starter with an ability to work within a team
- Excellent problem solving skills with ability to creatively develop solutions as necessary
- Proficient in MS Professional Office
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
