Position Summary
The Army Engineer Association (AEA) Store Manager is a professional and customer service-oriented supervisor appointed to oversee daily operations at the AEA Regimental Store located at Fort Leonard Wood. As Store Manager, you supervise the store's operational and organizational standards and its website.
You will also provide input into writing item descriptions, uploading product images, pricing, inventory, policies and procedures, and ensuring shipping merchandise to customers worldwide; strong marketing, social media, and SEO knowledge is required.
This position supervises the Sales Associate, Regimental Store.
You must be willing to learn and tackle new challenges, including multiple store items for online sales in addition to the Regimental local store sales. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed within are representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs and monitors Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions and cash management in the local store, at mobile sale sites, and online, processing all online, email, and phone orders in a timely manner.
- Receive and process custom orders with approved suppliers. Custom orders include framed plaques, special wood requests, and bulk orders. Accept custom orders in-person, by phone, or via email. Orders will not be authorized for production until a mockup design and price quote are verified by the customer.
- Provides direct coordination and customer service, including addressing customer complaints and issues in a professional manner.
- Monitors and coordinates ordering, receipt, and return of merchandise and/or equipment, verifying invoices and billing; resolves errors and discrepancies, as appropriate; and coordinates shipping and delivery of merchandise to customers.
- Maintains contact with the suppliers and manufacturers of the products they provide.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the operating budget for the Regimental Store.
- Monitors stock and inventory control and performs quality assurance of merchandise on a regular basis, both with local store and online sales. LightSpeed Retail onboarding requirements.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline and improve store sales, including integration across applications and social media efficiencies.
- Manage policy and compliance for all store operational systems, equipment, and software.
- Ensure operational policies, systems, and resources for effective store administration, security, safety, technology support, and emergency protocols.
- Oversee physical and virtual administration including receptionist functions, safety and accessibility of the store environment, and operational support for staff, events, and meetings.
- Serve as primary contact for all tenant units within the 1st Engineer Brigade regarding museum and mobile events. Represent the AEA at select meetings, when notified.
- Work with the museum staff to identify events and requirements that affect the operations or schedule of the Regimental Store.
- Performs general housekeeping and cleanliness within the store.
Physical Requirements
Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products to perform all store work floor and mobile sales duties up to 50lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout the workday.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college is preferred. Work experience in management positions in lieu of college experience will be considered.
At least three years of related experience.
Knowledge of basic e-commerce and virtual sales platforms.
Knowledge of basic financial accounting and inventory management.

- Social media, website management, and search engine optimization skills are highly desirable but not required.
- Conducts financial and customer queries to provide statistical data on a weekly basis with the ability to keep accurate detailed records and maintain digital store continuity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to listen well and positively represent the organization and its mission.

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively and positively with a range of individuals and working styles, and with people at all organization levels, including staff, board members, sponsors, donors, and uniformed personnel.
