Cannon Main Store - RFT Department Manager - $20.60/hr

Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Softlines Department Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations, sales performance, and customer experience within assigned Softlines departments, including Apparel, Accessories, and Prestige Brands. This role is accountable for maximizing sales, profitability, inventory objectives, and customer engagement while developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers exceptional service.

The Softlines Department Manager plans, coordinates, and executes daily and weekly workloads to achieve department and store sales goals. They create schedules aligned with business demands and customer traffic, maintain merchandising standards, manage inventory, and ensure operational excellence throughout their areas of responsibility.

This leader promotes a customer-centric culture by coaching and developing associates to provide extraordinary shopping experiences. They set clear expectations, foster accountability, and utilize performance management practices to drive results. The Department Manager is also responsible for resolving customer concerns, de-escalating challenging situations, and empowering team members to deliver solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• Previous retail supervisory or management experience required; experience in Apparel, Accessories, Prestige Brands, or Softlines preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Strong understanding of retail sales, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
• Ability to think quickly, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and accountability.
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing technology and business processes.
• Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
