Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) for an immediate opening in a critical-access hospital located in Central New York. This position involves working with a diverse patient population and a variety of common diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Manage a patient ratio of 7:1, with the possibility of increasing to 8:1 in rare cases.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize the EMR system, Sorian, for patient documentation and communication.

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Syncope
• Non-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (non-STEMI)
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Wound care issues
• Total Hip Replacement (THR) and Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
• lumbar surgery
• General surgery

Qualifications

• Current RN license in New York State.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Experience in Med-Surg nursing with a focus on adult and pediatric care.
• Able to start ASAP.
