The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit provides care for adult cardiac patients with a focus on conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias. The nurse will be responsible for managing telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, and addressing respiratory problems related to COPD and pneumonia.

Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Medical Progressive Care Unit provides care for adult cardiac patients with a focus on conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias. The nurse will be responsible for managing telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, and addressing respiratory problems related to COPD and pneumonia.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and telemetry readings.
- Manage and administer cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration.
- Provide care for patients with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac) and external CPAP/BIPAP.
- Perform tracheostomy care and management.
- Conduct pre and post cardiac catheterization assessments.
- Manage peripheral line care and PICC line management.
- Provide procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Cardiac Progressive Care required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred.
- Experience with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5.
- Previous charge RN experience preferred.
- Experience in the use of Rapid Response teams is a plus.
