Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients, developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients and the design of functional treatment programs aimed at effective reintegration into community activities.
The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves, performing professional duties associated with patient care, development, and program delivery. Consistent adherence to the organization's Mission Statement and Core Values is expected, along with compliance with the organizational Code of Conduct.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Document care in a clear, concise, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and clinic policies.
- Provide care under signed, valid physician orders and follow insurance approval protocols.
- Engage in student program assignments, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Create and execute an individualized professional development plan focused on ongoing professional growth.
- Maintain professional licensure and complete all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
- Participate in organizational performance improvement methodologies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active licensure for practicing physical therapy in the respective state.
