Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Rotating shifts: 7 AM to 3 PM and 11 AM to 7:30 PM.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing quality patient care in the operating room environment. The RN will assess patients' needs, recognize safety issues, and implement use of lifts to move patients safely. The role requires the ability to function well in stressful situations, strong leadership skills, and the capacity to prioritize and delegate responsibilities.

• Provide quality nursing care in the operating room.


• Assess patient's clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs.


• Recognize and address safety issues for self and patients.


• Function effectively in high-stress situations.


• Lead and supervise nursing staff as needed.


• Utilize clinical equipment and instrumentation in a safe manner.


• Interpret lethal dysrhythmias.


• Participate in the six-month Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program if required.

• 2 years of nursing experience required.


• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.


• Current New York State RN license.


• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.


• Minimum one year of medical/surgical experience preferred.


• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs.
