Responsibilities
- Performs psychiatric examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation and health education
- Works closely with the BHD and/or BHPs in identifying appropriate treatment plans for at-risk patients, or as needed
- Intermittently attends morning huddle calls, when indicated and/or when there are high-risk patients that require multidisciplinary treatment planning and collaboration
- Obtains patient histories, follows up with medication verification efforts, reviews pertinent medical history and develops patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format
- Provides support in coordinating the activities of patient care and/or support staff
- Participates in developing specific mental health policies and procedures, when indicated
- Current state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Current CPR certificate
- Two (2) years of experience in psychiatric and/or correctional healthcare setting
- Proficient with electronic medical records
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
