Position Summary
The AMAA seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our Finance Department. This full-time role is ideal for an individual who is eager to grow in nonprofit accounting, values mission-driven work and demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills. The Junior Accountant will assist in day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions that support the mission of the organization.
Provide financial information to management by researching, compiling and analyzing accounting data. Ensure financial records are maintained and recorded in accordance to accounting laws, regulations, rules or procedures based on GAAP or IRS
Essential Duties
· Journal Entries, Accounts Payable and Disbursements, Bank Reconciliations, Deposits, Distributions
· Audit Assistance, Various Financial Reports and Schedules
· Assist in answering main phone line and other duties as needed
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· Proficiency in the MIP Accounting System and Microsoft Word & Excel
· Knowledge and experience in maintaining database
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· In-Person/Hybrid required
