POSITION: BUILDING SUBSTITUTE
JOB GOAL: The Building Substitute will support the general operation of the school by assisting where needed during the day. This includes leading classrooms for teachers who are absent for part of or the entire day. The guest teacher will ensure proper supervision of students and that lesson plans are conveyed per the teacher's wishes.

Job Description

Qualifications
- Associates Degree Required; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Experience and love of working with children.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with colleagues which will include administrators, classroom teachers, special educators, related service personnel, clinicians and parents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Assist with classroom management in general and special education classrooms.
- Accurately implement content, instructional and performance modifications as designed by the classroom teacher.
- Cover for teaching assistants, as necessary, to support students with special needs in accessing the curriculum.
- May cover for art, music, and physical education teachers who are absent.
- May accompany students on field trips.
- Greet students upon arrival to school, assist with student dismissal.
- May cover the front desk during secretary’s lunch or break.
- Attend staff and building meetings and three Professional Development days (two before the beginning of the school year and one during the school year).
- Perform other duties as delineated by the principal or assistant principal.
