AMS Front Desk Clerk (26-27 school year)
MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful clerical experience preferred
- Proficient use of computers to include spreadsheet, database and word processing applications
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively by oral and written means
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs or escorts them to the proper person
- Must have expertise in public relations work on the telephone, and in person, being able to relate well with people
- Provide assistance to students, staff, parents and visitors entering office
- Frequent dissemination of procedures to parents and school personnel is required, responding to frequent telephone inquiries, relaying or recording messages accurately to or for appropriate persons
- Have knowledge of office procedures, good secretarial skills, typing, bookkeeping, use of copy machine, or any office machines used by the individual offices
- Provide secretarial support for immediate supervisor or for any office as directed
- Project a positive image of the Arlington Schools at all times
- Promotes and implements safety and security measures
- Keep information confidential concerning school business
- Follow working instructions as directed by immediate supervisor
- Perform in a professional manner at all times
- Dress neatly and appropriately for the position held
- Assist with record keeping
- Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds.
- Assist with receptionist and telephone duties
- Assist with dispensing medication to students
- Must comply with federal, state and local statutes and regulations, as well as school board policies and administrative regulations
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Consistent and prompt attendance is imperative for this role.

Salary: based on previous/like experience related to the position
salary range: $19.38 - $21.40
The Front Desk Clerk maintains a forty-hour (40) workweek with salary established by the Board of Education. Performance of this job will be evaluated according to procedures established by the Human Resources Department. This is a ten-month work year.
