Maintenance Technician – Arlington Machinery (Lake Zurich, IL)Compensation: $30–$42/hr Profit SharingBenefits: Healthcare package, additional company benefitsPosition OverviewArlington Machinery is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the repair, refurbishing, installation, and upkeep of used plastics manufacturing equipment within our state-of-the-art warehouse. This role plays a key part in ensuring machinery is safe, operational, and ready for resale or customer shipment. You will work hands-on with a wide range of plastics processing equipment including extrusion lines, shredders, injection molders, auxiliary equipment, and metalworking machines.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & RepairTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on plastics machinery.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment in our warehouse.Rebuild, refurbish, and recondition machinery—including tear-downs, part replacement, alignment, and calibration.Assist with repainting and cosmetic refurbishing as needed.Warehouse & Machinery OperationsSupport the safe movement, rigging, and staging of machinery within the warehouse.Prepare machines for customer inspection, testing, and shipment.Assist with equipment installs, start-ups, and functional testing.Technical DocumentationMaintain accurate service logs, repair notes, and inspection records.Identify parts needed for repairs and coordinate with purchasing or inventory teams.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures related to machinery, tools, and material handling.Ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards before sale or shipment.Qualifications3 years of industrial maintenance experience (plastics machinery experience preferred).Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electric motors, PLCs, wiring, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.Experience with forklifts, hoists, rigging, or heavy equipment handling is a plus.Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.What We OfferCompetitive hourly rate ($30–$42 DOE)Profit-sharing opportunitiesHealthcare packageStable full-time work in a clean, organized, indoor warehouseOpportunities to grow skills in a specialized industry with a company operating since 1987
