The Arlington Public Schools is seeking a licensed secondary English teacher beginning in the 2026-2027 school year at Arlington High School. As part of the AHS English Department, candidates will collaborate with fellow teachers in the department, special educators, administrators, and other staff as well as effectively communicate with parents and guardians at Arlington High School.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop critical reading, writing and
thinking skills into the curriculum. We value teachers who are attentive to issues
of social justice and seek to integrate diverse perspectives in the curriculum. Candidates should have experience differentiating instruction for a wide array of student learning needs as well as knowledge of social emotional learning strategies.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 Days
REPORTS TO: Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.

Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
