SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing, this role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing initiatives that elevate the destination’s brand, inspire travel, and drive economic impact. This role oversees day-to-day marketing functions, including paid media, content strategy, project and website management, and agency partnerships. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and collaborative leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to develop the annual media plan and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead the execution of the annual meetings media plan and other seasonal plans as required.
- Create a cohesive content strategy across all platforms (website, digital, social, email, print, video and event-based activations) to ensure consistent, engaging, and relevant messaging.
- Oversee and implement promotional calendars, new initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and major projects.
- Manage relationship with the external media buying agency, providing strategic guidance and performance oversight.
- Oversee the management of the organization’s website, ensuring content is current, SEO best practices are implemented, and user experience remains top-tier.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Simpleview CMS and WordPress platforms; collaborate with developers or digital vendors as needed.
- Direct email marketing efforts, including list growth, segmentation, content development, and performance optimization.
- Track campaign performance, ROI, and audience engagement using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and media dashboards. Ensure campaigns meet KPIs and are optimized based on data and insights.
- Oversee internal and cross-functional project management processes to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with tourism partners, community organizations, and internal departments to amplify destination messaging and align strategies.
- Attend conferences and monitor industry trends in digital marketing, tourism, and destination storytelling.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep knowledge of paid media strategy, digital marketing, SEO, social media, and content marketing.
- Proficiency in WordPress and basic web content management.
- Experience managing agencies, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will supervise the Project Manager.
COMPUTER RELATED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Proficient in MS Office products, WordPress, Canva and Monday.com
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or a related field along with 5 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
This employee must possess a valid Texas Operator's (Driver) License, Class C, to travel to and from local meetings. Some company travel throughout the U.S. is required for conferences and meetings.
