Managing Producer
Classification: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Co-leads organization with Executive Director
Location: Brooklyn, NY (hybrid)
About the Role
ArKtype is seeking a strategic and operations-driven leader to serve as Managing Producer for the company's expansive portfolio, including Under the Radar (UTR), a nationally recognized performance festival and year-round platform.
The Managing Producer is responsible for the overall operations of ArKtype, ensuring our ambitious programming is supported by strong systems, clear processes, and sustainable resources. Working in close partnership with the Executive Director, this role translates vision into structure, supports organizational growth, and ensures that teams are aligned and resourced to do their best work.

Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across ArKtype
- Ensure alignment across producing, development, public programs, and marketing for Under the Radar
- Establish and maintain clear workflows, systems, and internal processes
- Support organizational planning and implementation
- Ensure alignment across producing, development, public programs, and marketing for Under the Radar

Financial Management
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing financial oversight
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, and expenses across programs
- Align financial planning with organizational priorities
- Prepare financial reporting for leadership and the Board
Team Leadership
- Oversee staffing structure, hiring, and onboarding
- Supervise senior staff including Producing Director and Public Programs Manager
- Support team performance, communication, and accountability
- Ensure appropriate staffing across all program areas
Contracts & Compliance
- Oversee contracts with artists, partners, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit, legal, and financial requirements
- Coordinate with legal and external partners as needed
Marketing & Revenue Alignment
- Oversee marketing efforts and ticketing strategy
- Ensure alignment between campaigns, programming, and revenue goals
- Support coordination with partner organizations
Cross-Department Coordination
- Facilitate communication across teams
- Ensure alignment on timelines, priorities, and deliverables
- Address operational challenges and competing needs
Systems & Infrastructure
- Maintain systems for budgeting, scheduling, and program tracking
- Oversee internal tools, IT systems, and shared resources
- Ensure clear documentation and information flow
Board & Governance
- Prepare materials for Board meetings
- Participate in Board discussions and reporting
- Support organizational planning and governance processes
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in nonprofit, arts, or cultural administration
- Strong experience with budgeting and financial oversight
- Experience managing teams and organizational systems
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in international performing arts contexts
- Experience collaborating with major NYC cultural institutions
- Familiarity with non-traditional or site-specific performance environments
- Experience in festival or multi-venue programming contexts

SALARY
$85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
