EVS Technician (Full-Time)(Day Shift) - Environmental Services

Job Summary:

• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairwells in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilized the appropriate PPE, chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Uses and maintains equipment properly.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
• Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors.
• Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Transports clean and dirty linen to designated area when needed.
• Collection of shred bins and store in the designated area.
• Transport empty boxes to the box compactor and create a bail when needed.
• Collect and transport recycled goods to the designated area.
• Replenishes supplies in rooms and on housekeeping carts
• Follows all infection control practices, including handwashing techniques, standards precautions, and isolation precautions.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
• Works day, evening, or night shift as assigned.
• Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
• Always observes safety precautions.
• Moving and or relocating of furniture or medical records as requested by the supervisor.
• Maintains age-specific safety precautions including:

1. Pediatric:

• No small or sharp object or tools that may injure pediatric patients or visitors will be left out.
• Cleaning carts will not be left unattended.
• Environmental Services closet will always remain locked.

2. Elderly:

• Maintain adequate lighting of good visibility.
• Keep hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning

equipment and tools.

Skill/Education Requirements:

• Must have valid Driver's License
• High school graduate or general equivalence diploma preferred
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
