About Ozark Campus:
Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is the regional provider for technical and career education, offering more than 25 programs with a variety of industry specific options, as well as certificates of proficiency, technical certificates, associate degrees and general education coursework. The Ozark Campus is located on I-40 between Fort Smith and Russellville, Arkansas, in the city of Ozark. The campus, which is more than 26 acres and includes a half-mile exercise path and disc golf course, is located along Arkansas Highway 23 North in Ozark, Arkansas. The city of Ozark, with a population of approximately 3,500, is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and surrounded to the north by the Ozark National Forest and to the south by the Ouachita National Forest. Located to the west of Ozark is the city of Fort Smith, a commercial and industrial center for western Arkansas. Russellville, home to Arkansas Tech University's main campus and an area of vigorous industrial development, is located to the southeast of Ozark on Interstate 40.
Position Review:
The Project/Program Specialist position is responsible for a variety of Human Resources and Title IX tasks that are standard or regular support duties within the ATU-Ozark Campus. This position is governed by fiscal policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and institution policy. This position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor of Administration & Finance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hire and Onboarding Process for new/transferred employees.
- Knowledge of Principles and Practices of Human Resources.
- Ability to interpret and apply state and agency/institution policies and procedures governing personnel.
- Notice of Employments
- Deputy Title IX Coordinator/Investigator
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge and applicable laws and regulations toward Human Resource/Title IX matters.
- Knowledge of Governmental HR.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to remain professional, confidential and unbiased in personnel matters at all times.
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of Human Resources experience within Higher Education preferred.
Knowledge of legislative process for Arkansas Public Universities -specifically the policy process for the classification and compensation system.
SHRM Certified
Work Locations, Environment & Physical Demands:
In an office environment in Ozark, Arkansas
Ability to sit or stand using a computer or standard office machines with multiple screens for 8 hours.
Ability to navigate around campus and campus buildings to attend meetings, including days involving inclement weather.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Minimum Education, Certifications or Experience Requirements:
Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related human resources, public administration, or related experience.
