Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay Range: $12.50 - $14.00 / hour
Location: Springdale, AR
Available Shifts: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM; Saturday-Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

(Shift assignments may vary based on individual needs and scheduling.)

We partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, schools, foundations, businesses, and families to provide effective, least-restrictive supports that help individuals with disabilities live meaningful lives in environments they and their families choose.

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate and reliable DSPs to provide hands-on support to an adult consumer in their home and community. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life through person-centered care.

DSPs empower individuals to live in a home of their choice, access community resources, attend school or work, and participate in activities that are meaningful to them

About the Individual You Will Support:

The individual is social, friendly, humorous, caring, and resilient, with a strong personality and enjoyment of light teasing and positive interaction.

The individual enjoys music (especially female vocalists), movies, sports and sporting events, community outings, and spending time with family and their support system. The individual also enjoys being out in the community and engaging in social, activity-based events.

The individual communicates best with patient, empathetic, and attentive support staff who pay close attention to nonverbal cues and provide clear, respectful communication. Staff should be comfortable with a personable, humorous interaction style while remaining gentle and supportive, especially during times of fatigue or when the individual needs a break.

How to Best Support the Individual:

• Pay close attention to nonverbal communication and subtle cues.
• Be patient, gentle, and supportive, especially when the individual is communicating needs or emotions.
• Communicate clearly and directly-talk to the individual and ensure understanding.
• Use humor appropriately and be open to light teasing and personality-driven interaction.
• Maintain consistent communication with the support team.
• Encourage participation in community activities, while recognizing when the individual needs rest or a break.
• Show genuine care, empathy, and respect in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (or 1 year relevant experience)
• 18 years or older
• Required to pass background checks and required clearances
• Flexibility to work weekend schedules
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Working Conditions:

• Work occurs in people's homes, community settings, and agency sites; may include standing, walking, and driving.
• May involve exposure to challenging behaviors and physical tasks; agency provides training and supports.
• May involve lifting or using equipment to facilitate mobility.
• May involve assisting with personal care.
