Job Summary:
Lake Point Recovery and Wellness, a premier residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility, is seeking a Counselor in Training (CIT) who is QBHP Certified. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in counseling and seeking hands-on experience in the field of addiction treatment. The CIT will work under the supervision of licensed professionals, providing direct client services and supporting the development and implementation of personalized treatment plans.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Counselor in Training (CIT) - QBHP Certified will play a crucial role in supporting clients throughout their recovery journey at Lake Point Recovery and Wellness. Key responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, assisting in the development and modification of individualized treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions. The CIT will maintain detailed and accurate client records, ensuring that all documentation aligns with legal and ethical standards. Additionally, the CIT will participate in regular supervision and case review meetings, contributing to a collaborative treatment team approach. The role also involves crisis intervention, educating clients on coping strategies, and coordinating with other professionals to provide holistic care. The CIT is expected to uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality while actively engaging in continuous professional development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Job Specifications:
· Provide direct client care, including conducting assessments, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and assisting in crisis intervention.
· Support the creation and ongoing review of individualized treatment plans, ensuring they meet client needs and align with evidence-based practices.
· Document client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner using the facility’s electronic health records (EHR) system.
· Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and supervision sessions to enhance client care and professional development.
· Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct, ensuring client confidentiality and adherence to legal and professional guidelines.
· Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in addiction counseling and behavioral health.
· Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, community resources, and family members to provide comprehensive care to clients.
· Assist in developing and delivering educational workshops and therapeutic activities for clients.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a residential or outpatient addiction treatment setting.
· Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
· Bilingual abilities are an asset.

· The CIT will work within the Lake Point Recovery and Wellness facility, engaging in both residential and outpatient client care.
