Baker Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in Food Services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing bakery operations, including preparing breads, pastries, and/or desserts, calculating needed amounts of baked goods, ensuring accurate measurements of recipe quantities, labeling and storing leftover bakery items, and ordering weekly supplies.
In addition to baking duties, the Baker will maintain supplies by inventorying baking pans and staple ingredients on hand and requesting new supplies. The individual will also clean bakery equipment, including ovens, bakery coolers, freezers, and doughnut machines.
Assistance with serving meals to residents and/or the general public may be required as necessary.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of methods of baking and preparing food.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements of a food service facility.
- Ability to understand and follow recipes and oral instructions.
- Ability to operate equipment used in baking.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
Qualifications:
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in institutional baking or a related field.
