Job Summary
This position supports the lead teacher while also assisting with breakfast, lunch, and snack service, and covering staff breaks. This role is essential to maintaining ratios, smooth transitions, and daily operational flow. Position work in Pre Primary with 2 and 3 year olds. This is a potty training room as well.
This is a high-responsibility, high-trust position.
Responsibilities
Daily care of students in Montessori class, outside time, nap, and meal times. Interacting with students in a nurturing and positive way to make daily school life fun, enriching, and educational.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous preschool experience
- Able to pass transportation background requirements
Meal Support
- Assist with breakfast setup (early morning)
- Help serve lunch and snacks
- Ensure allergy compliance
- Sanitize tables before/after meals
- Support kitchen manager as needed
Classroom Support
- Maintain classroom ratios
- Cover teacher lunch breaks
- Assist with nap transitions
- Support work cycles
- Help combine classrooms at closing
Experience
- Prior experience working in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers or preschools is preferred.
- Classroom experience involving curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Montessori educational principles and methods is a plus.
- Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children in a nurturing and supportive manner.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with families.
