About This Role
A Montessori preschool in Allen is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Toddler Class (18 mon - 3 years), full-time.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement the curriculum.
- Establish a record-keeping system to track the children's progress.
- Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults by advocating conflict resolution.
- Implement grace, courtesy, and character-building lessons.
- Attend all faculty meetings and scheduled staff events.
- Will need to pass a background check and fingerprinting and CPR/First Aid certification.
Requirements
- Previous experience with children in an early childhood education setting.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Works well with children, parents, and other staff members.
- Physically capable to work with children on the floor and playground, as well as to lift children, materials, classroom furniture, and clean.
- A strong understanding of education, child development, and positive classroom management techniques.
Nice to Have
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Montessori certificate, or a Montessori certificate in progress
- Spanish or foreign language a plus
