Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for a few administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, picking up phone calls, and so on. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to billing.
- Manage medical billing processes, including claim follow-up and collections.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and government regulations related to medical billing.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to document patient information, treatment details, and billing data efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for proper coding.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims or denials promptly.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Complete other administrative tasks for the front office.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or office administration within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD coding, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management.
- Excellent understanding of medical billing processes and collections procedures.
- Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately.
- Prior experience with medical office operations is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
