What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at ARIZONA YOUTH PARTNERSHIP?
Project HOPE (Having Opportunities to Prepare for Employment) is a program in Gila and Pinal Counties for youth and young adults (16-24 years of age) to attain education, industry recognized credentials for sustained employment, and career development. The Program Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating services to support participants in reaching their goal of sustained employment and self-sufficiency. Strategies may include providing education, assessing needs, employment planning, goal setting, case management for participants and their families, and implementing and supporting a Career Collaboration Network. This position will work with individuals of varying cultures.
- Collaborate with School Districts, Probation, community organizations and other Prevention Staff to schedule trainings, presentations, and Network meetings.
- Deliver evidence-based programming such as Botvin’s Transitions, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Trauma Informed Care, and other substance use related programs.
- Complete intake interview with participants including assessing needs and abilities to gain employment and reach self-sufficiency.
- Provide resume writing skills and interview practice.
- Provide case management to participants and work with their families with ongoing needs for self-sufficiency.
- Convene Career Collaboration Network, host meetings, share information and resources.
- Listen to participant concerns and provide brief intervention and referrals when needed.
- Collaborate with staff to match participants with mentors.
- Deliver other presentations and programs as directed.
- Utilize a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of the project.
- Coordinate, facilitate and attend coalition meetings to support and develop prevention strategies to prevent and reduce the progression of youth and young adult substance abuse and its related issues to provide resources to participants to obtain and maintain employment and healthy lives.
- Attend community, coalition, agency, network, and other meetings as required.
- Coordinate school-based prevention activities with partner schools.
- Obtain and input data, prepare reports, compile statistics, complete grant requirements.
- Complete all fund source and AZYP reporting requirements.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of actions and outcomes for all funding streams.

- Experience working with youth and/or diverse groups of people OR Bachelor's Degree in related field related experience a plus.
- Prior successful experience facilitating or leading classes/instruction a plus.
- Knowledge of rural Arizona, prevention, and alcohol and substance use and abuse by youth, young adults, and adults.
- Excellent presentation, oral, written communication skills; knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point a plus
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a background check.
- AZ Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to travel countywide and statewide.
- Automobile Insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000
- Some evening and weekend hours as needed.
