Duties
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using various payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and others supported by the organization
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and payroll software to ensure data integrity
- Reconcile payroll accounts and perform detailed analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax requirements by applying current legal standards to payroll procedures
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, ensuring timely submission in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Collaborate with accounting teams to manage general ledger entries related to payroll expenses and liabilities
- Handle confidential employee information with the utmost discretion while maintaining data security protocols
- Assist in year-end reporting processes such as W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documentation
- Support audits related to payroll processing by providing accurate records and documentation as needed
Skills
- Extensive experience working with payroll systems including Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of employment law, labor law compliance, and payroll tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and accounting software such as QuickBooks or related financial tools
- Knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits
- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy using spreadsheets and financial software tools
- Ability to analyze complex payroll data for discrepancies or inconsistencies
- Familiarity with time & attendance systems and payroll management processes
- Excellent organizational skills coupled with the ability to handle confidential information securely
