Job Description:
The Coordinator Senior performs a variety of duties related to the support of the Academic Support Network (ASN) for the Tutoring Centers at the Tempe campus. This position works collaboratively with a cross-campus workgroup and campus-specific team to provide direct supervision to assigned student staff including but not limited to, hiring, training, and evaluating student staff and managing schedules. This position will also assist in the delivery of training content for ASN’s student staff. This position will supervise assigned professional staff and student staff for the program. This position works closely with supporting University faculty and staff in regards to the Subject Area Tutoring program. This position is also responsible for assisting in the deployment of ASN’s Online Study Hub (OSH) learning support model. The position will support student staff involvement in ASN's OSH platform. This position participates in Work training for professional staff, mentors ASN’s working learners in Work , and assists in the evaluation of ASN’s working learners according to Work guidelines. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Subject Area Tutoring Center Program Manager.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating staff, including student and professional staff
- Works in a shared supervision model to manage the supervision and day-to-day functions of the Tempe Tutoring Centers which includes but is not limited to:
- Training new and current student staff
- Creating and managing student staff schedules
- Evaluating student staff performance and providing feedback
- Helping to resolve issues amongst student staff and/or users
- Assisting with the scheduling and presentation of student employee training, meetings, and workshops
- Supporting University College’s Work by engaging in all aspects of the designed program including, but not limited to mentorship, reflective practices, professional development and evaluation of working learners, and use of digital portfolios
- Monitoring and assessing staff through one-on-one meetings and provides staff with direction and strategies in how to become more effective in their position
- Helps to monitor the University College Design and Learn Commons space
- Works collaboratively with the Supplemental Instruction and Lead Tutor professional staff to support student needs.
- Participates in the design process to design services to support learners at scale using design thinking, analytics, automation, and intelligent systems
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- Evidence of a degree in STEAM or any other degree program relevant to the area of responsibilities
- Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community members
- Demonstrated knowledge of tutoring principles
- Experience developing and giving presentations
- Experience creating and delivering training
- Experience tutoring, teaching or in a learning center
- Experience using technology such as Canvas, Zoom, Slack, TracCloud, Google suite, Microsoft Office and/or other web applications
- Supervisory experience
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Experience working collaboratively on a team
