Job Summary
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented individual for a position that combines clinical scheduling with receptionist duties. This role is vital to our operations, ensuring the coordination of surgical procedures and cardiac testing while facilitating communication between patients and medical staff.The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational skills and have a minimum of one year of experience in medical office practices. Proficiency in clerical tasks and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service are essential. Additionally, prior experience with Athena EMR and knowledge of prior authorizations for procedures and imaging are required.
Responsibilities
- Schedule ordered cardiac testing: nuclear stress testing, holter monitors, device interrogations, stagged venous procedures, ultrasound imagining and interventional/diagnotics procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments, provide pre-operative/testing instructions, and answer any questions regarding their care plans.
- Review documentation to ensure all necessary information is collected before scheduling
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, appointments, and care plans in the medical office system.
- Proficient knowledge on obtaining insurance authorizations
- Collaborate with front desk staff to ensure seamless patient flow and address any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Assist with clerical duties as needed, including filing, data entry, and maintaining office organization.
- Receptionist responsibilites include checking patient's in/out for their appointment/testing, collecting co-pay (knowledge on insurance benefits), scheduling new patient referrals and answering/returning phone calls.
Skills
- Proficiency in front desk operations within a medical office environment.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical documentation processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Solid clerical skills including typing accuracy and attention to detail in documentation review.
- Experience in office management practices that support efficient workflow within a healthcare setting.
