As a Surgery Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
- Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
- Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
- Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
- Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
- Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
- Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
- Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
- Update patient information.
- Prepare surgical packet materials.
- Assist in training and orienting of new staff.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
- Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.
- 2 years of experience surgery scheduling.
