Job Summary
Care for children in a private business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Care for children in private business. Observe and monitor children's play activities.
- Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games.
- Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
- Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
- Sanitize toys and play equipment.
- Support country club as needed.
- Special projects as assigned by management.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to others and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Must be able to lift children and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs- maintaining day care center requires bending, sitting, crawling, stooping and considerable movement of the arms and legs. Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with customers and work in open area with other employees. Employee may come in contact with chemicals and cleaning solvents as necessary.
Experience & Education
High-school graduate or GED equivalent required. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the service industry required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Good customer contact skills. Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person and by telephone. Excellent oral communication skills as well as memorization skills in retaining information. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.
