What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials and Processes Engineer position at Aries Aero Systems?
Position Purpose
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of design, analysis, and liaison engineering activities for the development and production of business aviation aircraft. Scope of responsibility and level of independence will be matched to the selected candidate's experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to and, at senior levels, lead major engineering projects and programs
- Generate and communicate technical requirements to external suppliers and internal engineering disciplines (Powerplant, Environmental Control, Structures, Electrical, Mechanical)
- Review proposed designs and workflows (SmarTeam, CATIA)
- Produce EAR-approved test plans and results reports
- Support manufacturing liaison and Material Review Board (MRB) integration
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects
- Select materials for pressurized and unpressurized environments; knowledge of chemical substance regulations (REACH, TSCA, EPA) a plus
- Revise materials and processes specifications
- Serve as technical point of contact/liaison with groups outside the immediate team
- Maintain current knowledge of developments in the field to recommend innovations
- Exercise judgment ranging from working under limited supervision to acting independently on projects of major complexity with no established precedent, depending on level
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- 5–13 years of specific technical discipline experience, or 10–15 years of broad engineering experience across disciplines, depending on level
- Advanced degree credit: up to 2 years for Master's, 4 years for PhD, toward experience requirement
- Advanced degree in engineering or related field preferred
- Must be legally qualified to work on an ITAR project
- Onsite, full-time
Pay: $56.00 - $87.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
