What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Aria Community Health Center?

RESPONSIBILITES
Assist the Pharmacist with prescription management and communicating with providers about patient medications. Also, communicate with patient over the phone and onsite to address customer service issues and field questions about medications. Additionally, responsible for confirming patient information on prescription labels before disbursing medication.
EXAMPLES OF TASKS
- Enter and maintain prescription data using our computer system
- Answer incoming phone calls and field patients’ questions
- Contract providers to clarify prescription information
- Disburse completed and confirmed prescriptions to patients
- Answer patient’s questions and address customer service issues when they arise
- Assist the pharmacist with maintaining the ongoing medication inventory and place medication orders when instructed.
SKILLS
- Exemplary verbal communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use computer for day to day tasks
- Basic Math Skills
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Associate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- 4 years of customer service experience required.
LICENSURE & CERTIFICATION
Must possess valid state of California certification.

- Frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and other movements typical of a standard workday.
- Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, operating tools or equipment, and handling materials.
- Some pushing and pulling required during daily tasks.
