Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrival at each destination while maintaining organizational accuracy.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper techniques to prevent damage and ensure safety during heavy lifting.
- Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, answer questions, and build positive relationships through professional client communication.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction and company revenue.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper automobile transportation practices and adherence to traffic laws.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or automobile transportation is highly preferred.
- Retail store experience or merchandising background can be advantageous for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations related to pricing, measurements, or route planning.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team coordination.
