What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Liaison position at Argosy Collegiate Charter School?
The Academic Liaison requires a multi-talented, flexible individual committed to scholar success to and through college. The Academic Liaison’s primary role is to act as a bridge between Argosy Collegiate scholars and their teachers, working closely with content teams to develop and implement supportive structures during scholars’ study blocks and core content class times. This requires an understanding of building a positive and productive learning environment within the school day that supports scholars’ goal setting, organization, coursework completion, and self-advocacy.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, the Academic Support Facilitator will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the Principal may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in related content area such as Youth Development, Education, or Mentorship
- Education licensure through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (preferred)
- Completion of the MTELs in Communication & Literacy and in content area by the end of the first year of employment
- Alignment with Argosy Collegiate’s mission and vision for all scholars.
- Experience working with youth in an urban and/or school setting with a proven track record for effectively supporting academic progress.
- Ability to think and thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial setting.
- Ability to think critically, problem-solve, backwards plan, analyze and use data, and prioritize the needs of scholars.
- Collaborative team player – communicative, reflective, strong work ethic, sense of humor, receptive to feedback, growth mindset, data-driven, supportive, and relentlessly optimistic.
- Exceptionally professional and respectful with all stakeholders.
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a strong plus.
- Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the U.S. required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support the safety, welfare, and supervision of students at all times while on school premises or engaged in school-sponsored activities; serve as a mandated reporter, promptly reporting any suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with state laws and school policy.
- Model and uphold the School’s Code of Conduct, core values, and professional standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook; maintain appropriate, respectful, and professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance according to the school’s established schedule, including special events, meetings, and required professional development sessions.
- Demonstrate sufficient mobility and stamina to move throughout the school building
- Engage in work that requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional light lifting (up to 25 pounds).
- Perform duties in various classroom and school environments, including outdoor supervision as needed.
