Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Manufacturing Lead - 2nd Shift at our Shawnee, KS location. The Manufacturing Lead supports daily production operations to meet schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role works closely with operators and supervisors to establish priorities, maintain equipment readiness, and ensure compliant processing and packaging of drug products in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and safety procedures. The Lead troubleshoots issues, supports efficiency improvements, ensures accurate documentation, and helps train and guide team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, cGMP, SOP, PPE, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate, set up, clean, change over, and maintain manufacturing and packaging equipment; support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Lead Compounding operations, including CIP, equipment setup, raw material additions, and batch control system recipe execution.
- Perform in-process quality checks, identify non-conformances, and communicate issues promptly.
- Accurately complete production documentation and system entries (SAP, MES, EBRS); review and approve team documentation as needed.
- Support efficiency and OAE targets by optimizing equipment parameters and reducing setup/changeover times.
- Inspect components and finished products, handle material movements, and operate material-handling equipment.
- Train, guide, and support team members to build a high-performance, team-oriented culture.
- Meet production schedules and maintain facility and equipment cleanliness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- 5 years of experience in a regulated cGMP or SOP-driven environment required.
- Experience using automated inventory or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MES) required.
- Experience operating motorized and non-motorized material-handling equipment required.
- Strong equipment changeover, setup, and troubleshooting skills required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with basic PC applications, including email and document attachments.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, work instructions, and equipment manuals.
- Demonstrated commitment to working safely in a production environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- Solid mathematical aptitude (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, metric system).
- Experience using electronic databases and online tools required.
- Ability to effectively partner across teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts).
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass required fit tests.
- Ability to wear all required PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, etc.).
- Adept hand/arm dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
- Strong close-range vision and hearing acuity.
- Willingness to work overtime based on production needs.
