The AV Specialist will maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance installed AV systems, support live events, and ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and networked solutions—including Microsoft Teams-enabled video conferencing. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on AV experience, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven government environment.
The scope is to provide end-to-end audiovisual support across USAFCOEFS classrooms and event spaces, including system sustainment, troubleshooting, event support, asset management, and customer training—ensuring reliable, high-quality, and mission-ready AV capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- AV Systems Operations & Sustainment
- Projectors, audio systems, control systems, and AV racks
- Network-connected AV and Teams-enabled conferencing systems
- Routine system checks to ensure full operational readiness
- Daily logs of tasks, customer requests, and system issues
- Common Operating Picture (COP) of all FCP classrooms
- Weekly inventory of AV equipment and repair parts
- Preventative maintenance (cleaning, filter/lamp replacement, inspections)
- Equipment repairs and component replacement as required
- Troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and signal flow schematics
- Service Management & Reporting
- Track and manage workload using Army Enterprise Service Management Platform (AESMP)
- Create and manage tickets in SharePoint and FCP repositories
- Monitor all tickets through resolution and closure
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to the COR
- Document equipment usage, repairs, and part replacements
- Classroom requests: 2-hour response / 4-hour resolution
- General requests: 4-hour response / 8-hour resolution
- Event & Operational Support
- Change-of-command ceremonies, retirements, and official functions
- Conferences, presentations, and multi-day events
- Coordinating with customers to determine AV requirements
- Conducting site surveys (power, layout, acoustics)
- Transporting, setting up, configuring, and operating AV equipment
- Monitoring and adjusting audio/video quality during events
- Audio products and recordings for official events
- High-quality sound and visual outputs using mixers and equalizers
- Customer Support & Training
- Serve as primary AV support representative for classrooms and events
- Provide hands-on assistance and troubleshooting for users
- Deliver training and briefings on AV systems and instructional technologies
- Coordinate with technical support teams to resolve complex issues
- Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain accountability of AV equipment, repair parts, and inventory
- Manage AV loaner program (issue, track, receive equipment)
- Document shipping/receiving of AV components, including packaging and labeling
- Track usage of consumables (e.g., projector bulbs) by classroom
- DoD Secret Clearance
- Compliance with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance policies
- Ability to safeguard Government systems, equipment, and facilities
- Knowledge of handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Visual Technology, IT, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of hands-on experience supporting AV systems and live events
- AV hardware (projectors, audio systems, mixers, control systems)
- Video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
- AV signal flow, wiring, and schematics interpretation
- Basic networking concepts related to AV systems
- Experience supporting live events and presentations
- Ability to manage multiple service requests in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer support skills
- Experience in DoD or government training environments
- Familiarity with SharePoint and AESMP ticketing systems
- Experience supporting classroom or simulation-based training systems
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for AV systems
