ARES Corporation is seeking a motivated engineer to support NASA's Human Space Flight Program. The Junior Engineer will: Conduct a variety of engineering tasks related to the development, operation, and maintenance of complex technical systems. Apply integration principals and methodologies to ensure performance of total system. Typically trained in a variety of technical disciplines such as software, math and scientific specialties. On a limited basis, applies basic principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments. Work involves problem-solving, following standardized practices and procedures. Typically interfaces with Supervisor/Manager and other Professionals in work group.
Job Description:
- As an engineer on our team, you will work closely with visiting vehicle requirements to ensure full verification closure is achieved for the assigned visiting vehicle for its approach/departure from the ISS.
- You will also work with teams to identify any risks or requirement violations and be able to report and communicate to upper management.
- This is your chance to develop your skills in systems integration and engineering while gaining mentoring and experience in NASA space systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of engineering principles and technical writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present technical ideas to colleagues and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, C#, Microsoft SQL, and database development
- Knowledge of virtual reality, International Space Station, human space flight, flight design, or orbital dynamics.
- Knowledge of product life cycle management.
- Ability to maintain and develop engineering tools.
Education:
- BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred, but not required).
- 0 to 5 years of related professional experience.
