We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clerk to work in our Drain Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical tasks to support the smooth operation of the office with efficiency and expertise. This role requires strong organizational skills, computer and financial literacy, communication, and the ability to manage time effectively.
Duties
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Greet visitors and answer phone calls.
- Assist with filing and organizing documents.
- Provide clerical support to various departments as needed.
- Handle correspondence and direct questions to the Drain Commissioner, Treasurer’s office or other resource.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Utilize computer software for scheduling and record-keeping tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and workflow.
- Update drain records in multiple software solutions and paper in-office.
- Work with Drain Commissioner
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a drain office or clerical role is preferred.
- GIS experience is greatly desired.
- Familiarity with reading property descriptions is greatly desired.
- Three to four years of experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, BS&A GL software and Solid Circle drain ledger software).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
