We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Diesel/Trailer Mechanic/Shop Foreman to take charge of our shop operations. You will report directly to the Fleet Director. Duties:
• Oversee daily shop operations and workflow.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers to ensure compliance with FMCSA, federal and state regulations.
• Train, mentor, and support junior mechanics.
• Maintain parts inventory and maintenance equipment.
• Welds, replace parts, repairs parts, repair electrical systems, diagnose vehicles for minor body and fender work, perform tune-ups and troubleshoots problems when needed.
• Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records for the fleet using our fleet software eMaint.
• Entering DVIR’s into eMaint for repair orders and check to make sure repair work was performed for completeness.
• Ensure all equipment has necessary paperwork and licenses to operate legally.
Education:
High School graduate plus 3 to 5 years’ experience as a diesel truck mechanic, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements:
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• ASE certification a plus (but not required)
• Considerable knowledge of safety practices and techniques in diesel truck and trailer maintenance and repair.
• Considerable knowledge of diesel engine operation and repair.
• Considerable knowledge of trailer repair.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Salary : $32 - $40
