What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager position at Arden Search?
Our client is seeking a high-impact FP&A Manager to partner directly with the CFO and help drive financial strategy across a rapidly growing, private equity-backed platform.
This is not a back-office reporting role. You’ll own the FP&A function end-to-end—building models, shaping forecasts, and delivering insights that influence real business decisions. You’ll operate as a true thought partner to leadership, with visibility across operations, strategy, and M&A. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys being deep in the data while still thinking strategically.
If you enjoy building, working closely with leadership, and having your work directly impact growth and performance, this is the role for you.
The Opportunity
You’ll step into a highly visible position with exposure to senior leadership and private equity stakeholders. As the FP&A lead, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Build and refine the company’s financial planning infrastructure
- Drive forecasting accuracy and performance insights
- Influence strategic initiatives, including M&A and long-term planning
- Help scale a business in an active growth phase
- Own the FP&A function, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the business
- Develop and track KPIs that drive operational and financial performance
- Build and maintain financial models, including 13-week cash flow and long-range projections
- Deliver reporting packages for leadership, lenders, and private equity stakeholders
- Perform profitability, pricing, and cost analysis across customers, projects, and service lines
- Support capital allocation decisions through ROI analysis and business case development
- Identify opportunities to improve and scale FP&A processes and reporting
- Support automation and system enhancements
- Partner with IT and business teams to enhance reporting capabilities
- Support long-term financial planning and scenario modeling
- Assist with M&A activities, including due diligence, modeling, and integration planning
- Help establish performance metrics and reporting for acquired businesses
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or corporate finance
- Proven ability to build and own complex financial models
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling) and strong PowerPoint capabilities
- Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, and operating metrics
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communicator with the ability to present to senior leadership and private equity stakeholders
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or services environments
- Background in private equity-backed or high-growth companies
Why This Role
- Direct partnership with the CFO
- High visibility with leadership and private equity ownership
- Opportunity to build and shape FP&A in a growing platform
- Exposure to M&A and strategic initiatives
- Hands-on role with real influence—not just reporting
